Trevor Williams Aims to Satisfy Independent Publishing Publicity Craving with Print-on-Demand Availability of Personal Journal Of A Living Kidney Donor at Lulu.com
Bendigo-Australia October 2006 Trevor Williams today published his new book Personal Journal Of A Living Kidney Donor not only to highlight live organ donation, but to also help raise funds for his son Nick to attend the Australian Transplant Games in 2008. The Games to be held in Beaumont, WA will attract competitors from all over the Australia as well as from other countries.
Nicholas has attended Australian Transplant Games in Adelaide (2004) and Geelong (2006). Entering only one competition in Adelaide (25m sprint) he came home with one bronze medal. However in 2006 he entered 6 events and collected a total of 4 medals from these events. Silver from Lawn Bowls, Gold in Open Mixed Volleyball, Silver in Ten Pin Bowling and Gold in the 50m Sprint. Nicholas also attempted 8-ball and table tennis where he had less success only making the playoffs for the bronze in 8-ball and having no luck in table tennis.
Trevor Williams wrote the book not only to promote Living Organ Donation but to also help fund his son’s next trip to the Australian Transplant Games. Nick is looking forward to going to Perth for his next attempt to gain gold for his state, and hopefully for his Country as well in the world games the following year. Trevor states that “Nick is a keen sportsman playing both Football (Aussie Rules) and Cricket on a junior level.
“Independent publishing and print-on-demand is the wave of the future, and the future is now,” said Trevor Williams. “The Lulu process allows me to cut out the middle man (i.e. a separate publisher) and get my work out there the way I want it. My book is much like Lulu itself—it puts control of your destiny in your own hands.”
